A Bitchin' Kitchen

Behold the kitchen cabinets in all their Shakeresque glory

They look even more beautiful in person

Duane Brensinger has done a wonderful job, exceeding our highest expectations

The range hood is a work of art in itself. Truly the work of a craftsman

The farmhouse sink is made of fireclay and is large enough to bathe a 6 year old (donkey) in.

The fridge nestles into it's new home

Kattrina and Brian's shower is all done, save grout

The shower features a soapstone-capped seat

The cherry flooring spreads across the landscape

The floor in the great room should be done on Thursday

A Clean Slate

The slate floor in Kattrina and Brian's bathroom has been laid and, so far, has been going in far more efficiently than Scott's, which has run into a few bumps that should be ironed out this week. The cherry flooring continues to be put down at a rollicking pace, and the upstairs will likely be done this week.

The air conditioning is working great, although some unknown mischievous gremlin keeps turning it down to a chilly 70 degrees. If the culprit is reading this, you will be found! And flogged!

The washer, dryer and dishwasher are set to arrive today and Duane, the kitchen cabinet guy, is back from Idaho and ready to start installing next week, afterwhich he will take another vacation. His priorities are completely correct and I applaud him.

As for the electrician, who knows. All we hear are crickets.

The slate floor marks phase two of the arts and crafts bathroom

Once enhanced, these tiles will really pop

The guest bedroom and storage room are floored

Next stop, loft and Laurie's

The water heater is in and most HVAC systems are go

The sound dampening drywall lies ready to be installed in the shop ceiling at a future date

Now its time for the kitchen cabinets

The front porch is grouted; if only the grout would set.

Porcelain Progress

The kitchen tile is going in!

It may look like stone, but it's all durable porcelain tile

We needed another A/C return, so we stuffed it into a closet shelf
